SchoolTrade Adopt-a-School Programme

From Trainees To Trainers through BBBEE

10-November-2015

Two years ago a Pietermaritzburg - based agricultural development company Zylem CC started making BBBEE contributions. They chose to support a local (black owned) training enterprise called Qhakaza CC. Last week the wheel turned full circle when Qhakaza was able to present a workshop on Goal Setting for staff members from Zylem.

In BBBEE speak this achievement goes by the grand name of 'Enterprise and Supplier Development' and is worth quite a few BBBEE points for Zylem. The exercise also meant that Zylem were able to bank another kind of BBBEE point, Preferential Procurement.

Over the past few years SchoolTrade has been privileged to play a key role in the development of Qhakaza. Qhakaza, in turn, has provided wonderful opportunities for growth for young unemployed school leavers.

SchoolTrade wishes to acknowledge three PMB based companies that have shown faith in the Qhakaza vision. That vision has been to provide young unemployed school leavers with a 10-month opportunity to learn on- the- job skills, broaden their horizons, carry responsibilities, learn from their mistakes and make personal career decisions. The class of 2015 even learn some self- defence skills!

Thank you Zylem CC, Nortech International and Alasia Marketing for your support.
