Nortech International Earns BEE Points!

There were high -fives all round when Pietermaritzburg-based Nortech International was recently awarded their ED and SED BEE points. After a rigorous verification process the BEE verification agency, Integra Scores, were satisfied that Nortech’s investment in the Izandla Careers Club (ICC) had met all the BEE requirements.
Nortech earned both sets of BEE points by joining the ICC in 2012. As ICC members Nortech staff participated in two
TATS visits and they hosted a Work Exposure visit during 2012.
The SED (Socio Economic Development) points were earned because of the impact the ICC has made on career development in two underprivileged schools. The ED (Enterprise Development) points were earned for the role the ICC plays in developing pre-employment skills in the Qhakaza students who (together with SchoolTrade) help to manage the above two ICC projects.
One of the 2012 Qhakaza students, Rachel Ross, said that she had acquired many skills in working with Nortech to arrange the TATS visits and Work Experience.
The ICC is delighted that Nortech International have renewed their membership for the next financial year.
